Casablanca Half Day Itinerary: 4 Hours, Mosque to Corniche
Only a few hours in Casablanca? This half day route links the Hassan II Mosque, Place Mohammed V, the Habous quarter and the Corniche, with a morning and an evening version.

A good Casablanca half day itinerary covers four places: the Hassan II Mosque, the Art Deco centre around Place Mohammed V, the Habous quarter and the Corniche at Ain Diab. In about four hours you can see all of them if you move efficiently, and a motorbike with a local rider is one of the easiest ways to do that in a city known for its traffic. Below you will find a morning route, an evening route and the practical details.
Before you start: what fits in half a day
Casablanca is large and its highlights are not next to each other. Trying to add museums, shopping centres and the old medina on top of the essentials usually means spending your afternoon in traffic. Keep it simple:
- Hassan II Mosque: the main landmark, on the ocean.
- Downtown and Place Mohammed V: Art Deco facades, the fountain, Arab League Park.
- Habous quarter: a calm, traditional-style district with pastry shops and olive stalls.
- Corniche and Ain Diab: the seafront, best at the end of the day.
If you only have two hours, keep the mosque, a short downtown loop and the Corniche, and save the Habous for another visit.
Morning route (about 4 hours)
Mornings are the calmer half of the day, and the light on the mosque's white and green details is lovely early on.
| Time | Stop | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Hassan II Mosque (esplanade, sea side) | Meet your rider, walk the esplanade, join a guided visit if times allow |
| +1 h 15 | Ride along the coast to downtown | Old medina walls and the port from the road |
| +1 h 45 | Place Mohammed V and Boulevard Mohammed V | Fountain, Art Deco facades, Central Market area |
| +2 h 30 | Habous quarter | Walk the arcades, buy almond pastries or olives |
| +3 h 30 | Corniche and Ain Diab | Ocean views and a mint tea or coffee before you finish |
Times are only a guide. Guided visits of the mosque run at set times that change, especially on Fridays and during Ramadan, so check locally the day before and build the plan around them.
Evening route (about 4 hours)
The evening version reverses the logic: city first, sea at sunset, lights at the end.
- Start at Place Mohammed V, in front of the fountain. Late afternoon is pleasant for a walk in Arab League Park and a look at the downtown facades.
- Ride to the Habous quarter while the shops are still open. Pick up something sweet from a traditional pastry shop.
- Head to the Hassan II Mosque for sunset. The esplanade is open around the building, and the minaret lit up after dark is one of the best views in the city.
- Finish on the Corniche. Ain Diab gets lively in the evening, with families walking the seafront and cafés facing the ocean.
Expect heavier traffic around sunset and at weekends. Your rider knows the side streets, which is one of the main reasons the evening route works better on two wheels.

Practical tips for a short visit
- Share your plan in the chat before the ride: which stops matter most, whether you want a mosque visit, and when you must be back.
- Wear closed shoes and long trousers. They are more comfortable on a bike and suit the mosque dress code.
- Bring a light jacket in the evening. The wind on the Corniche can be cool.
- Carry cash for the ride, pastries, coffee and any mosque visit ticket.
- Layover travellers: count the transfer between the airport and the city both ways, and keep a generous buffer before your flight.
- Friday and Ramadan: some opening times shift. If you travel during the holy month, read visiting Morocco during Ramadan.

Half a day gives you the essentials. With a full day you can add the old medina, a long lunch by the sea and a slower walk downtown. Our main guide to things to do in Casablanca goes into more detail on each neighbourhood.
Four hours, four places, one rider who knows the city: that is enough to understand why Casablanca deserves more than a quick transfer.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you see Casablanca in half a day?
- Yes, if you focus on four areas: the Hassan II Mosque, downtown around Place Mohammed V, the Habous quarter and the Corniche. Moving by motorbike saves a lot of time in traffic.
- Should I do the half day in the morning or the evening?
- Mornings suit a mosque visit and quieter streets. The evening suits the Corniche, sunset and the lively downtown. Both work as long as you check the mosque visit times locally.
- How long should I book a Warider ride for?
- For this itinerary a 3 hour ride (540 MAD) or a 4 hour ride (680 MAD) is the most comfortable. A 2 hour ride (400 MAD) works if you skip the Habous quarter.
- Is this itinerary possible during a layover?
- It can be on a long layover, but allow plenty of time for the trip between the airport and the city, and for getting back before your flight.
