If you ride a motorcycle, know your city well and enjoy meeting people, you can earn money as a motorcycle guide in Morocco by showing travellers around on Warider. You apply online with your identity, licence, insurance, motorcycle documents and a passenger helmet. Once approved, you go online to receive ride requests and you can create your own tours. Travellers pay you in cash, and you settle Warider's fees periodically.
Here is everything you need to know before you apply.
What Warider is, from the rider's side
Warider connects travellers with verified local riders for same-city motorcycle experiences. There are two kinds of work:
- Instant rides (Find a Rider). A traveller picks a city, a duration of 1 to 4 hours, interests, a start time and a meeting point. Warider sets a fixed price and sends the request to nearby verified riders. The first rider to accept is reserved for the traveller for 5 minutes while they confirm.
- Tours. You design your own route, with ordered stops, a mapped two-wheeler route, photos and weekly time slots. You set the price of your tour.
You always carry one passenger per ride, and you talk with travellers through an in-app chat that translates automatically, so language is not a barrier.
Requirements to become a rider
Before going online, every rider is verified. Prepare these documents:
| Requirement | Why it is checked |
|---|---|
| Identity document | To confirm who you are |
| Driving licence | To confirm you are allowed to ride your motorcycle |
| Insurance | To make sure the motorcycle is covered |
| Motorcycle documents | To confirm the motorcycle you will use |
| Approved passenger helmet | Every passenger must have one, and you carry it |
You also complete your profile (so travellers know who they ride with) and add your motorcycle. Wear a helmet yourself, as required by law, and make sure the passenger helmet is clean and in good condition.
How to apply, step by step
- Start your application on the rider onboarding page.
- Fill in your profile and upload your documents.
- Add your motorcycle.
- Choose your cities. You can select up to 4 cities. Warider is currently open in Marrakech and Casablanca, in soft launch in Tangier, and tours only in Agadir for now.
- Wait for approval. Your documents are reviewed before you can receive requests.
- Go online. Once approved, switch online to receive instant ride requests from nearby travellers.
- Create tours if you want to offer your own experiences.
How earnings work
Warider uses fixed prices, so there is no haggling with the traveller. Here is how the money is split.
Instant rides
The price the traveller pays is a fixed total that already includes Warider's service fee. The rest goes to you. In Marrakech:
| Duration | Total paid by the traveller | Warider service fee | Your share |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | 250 MAD | 25 MAD | 225 MAD |
| 2 hours | 350 MAD | 25 MAD | 325 MAD |
| 3 hours | 480 MAD | 35 MAD | 445 MAD |
| 4 hours | 600 MAD | 45 MAD | 555 MAD |
Prices are different in each city. For example, in Casablanca a 1-hour ride is 280 MAD and a 4-hour ride is 680 MAD, and in Tangier rides go up to 3 hours.
Tours
On tours, you set the price, which is shown on the tour page. Warider keeps a 7 % commission. In other words, for every 100 MAD of tour price, 7 MAD goes to Warider and 93 MAD to you.
Cash and fees
Travellers pay you, in cash, at the end of the ride. Nothing is charged online. Because you collect the full amount, you then settle Warider's fees periodically.
These figures describe how a single ride is split. How much you earn overall depends on how often you are online, the requests in your city and the tours you create, so Warider does not promise any income.
What makes a good Warider rider
Travellers remember the person as much as the places. Riders who do well usually:
- Ride smoothly and safely, adapting the pace to the passenger, especially first-timers.
- Give a short briefing before leaving: helmet fastened, where to hold, how to signal a stop.
- Know the city's stories, viewpoints, food spots and photo stops.
- Are on time at the meeting point, which is always inside the city's riding area.
- Reply quickly in the chat and keep promises.
Tips for creating a good tour
A tour is your own product, so take time to build it well:
- Pick a clear theme, such as sunset viewpoints, food or architecture, rather than a bit of everything.
- Order your stops logically so the mapped two-wheeler route flows without going back and forth.
- Add real photos of the places you stop at, so travellers know what to expect.
- Choose weekly time slots that match the best light and the quieter hours of traffic in your city.
- Set a fair price that reflects the duration and what you offer. It is shown on the tour page, and Warider keeps 7 %.
